I recently finished watching the complete series of Cashmere Mafia courtesy of instant streaming by Netflix. The show certainly has some resemblance to the beloved Sex and the City: four women, New York City, life of luxury, and an eerily similar theme song. The difference: the Cashmere Mafia women are high-powered executives balancing family and work. Oh and they've dropped the explicitness found in many of the SATC episodes. These ladies are trying to prove that you can have it all but....it won't be easy.
While Sex and the City focused primarily on the social lives of our beloved ladies, Cashmere Mafia focuses heavily on the professional and familial lives of the leading ladies. However, that is not to say there is not fabulousness (I know that's not really a word, but it should be) in every corner. High-powered executive means lots of money which means trendy restaurants and expensive clothes. I guess I have something to look forward to...Brianne, I hope you'll join me. Oh and Kristin, there is a make-up executive in this set, perhaps they had you in mind.
I would absolutely recommend watching this show, especially for those of you still mourning the end of Sex and the City. Why Cashmere Mafia only lasted a mere 7 episodes, I do not know. Perhaps it tried to hard to fill the void of Sex and the City. This show definitely had the chops to make it onto my weekly DVR recording list. So spend the time (less than 7 hours) to watch this short-lived but nonetheless enjoyable show about four women who prove you can have it all.
